Dr. Ellen Shumka

Ellen Shumka is a registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her Ph.D. in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. Ellen’s previous academic training includes a M.A. in School Psychology from UBC, and a joint-Honours B.A. in Psychology and English from the University of Waterloo. In 2018, Ellen completed her post-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut where she provided psychological assessment and treatment services to children, adolescents and their families. Ellen has specialized training and research interests in the area of childhood anxiety, specifically Selective Mutism. She has provided psychoeducation and consultation for a variety of school and community organizations, including Anxiety Canada, CBC Kids, and the YMCA.
